Unhappy Snowflake button fell off!

As minor as it is, my A/C snowflake button fell off the other day - seems one of the little side tabs that hold the button on broke.

Anyway...anyone have an extra snowflake button??

That seems to be the hot item these days. I wish I could help you. I bet I've had 40 different people email me asking for that part. If I ever find a spare, an online Rennlist auction will begin.
Good luck in your search.

If you don't find anyone, I have a whole control unit, not sure if the control unit is bad, or if teh ac button works or not because my ac was not charged, but it is a brand new switch. switch was liek 50 dollars from 944 racing, and i never used it. I soldered it in, that's it. I'm sure you could use a desolderer and get it out if your careful, or just use my entire unit. The only problme with my climate control unit is the clear facia in th efront of it , where the screws go through into the dash, are gone, at least on one side, not sure id have to check about the other. never was a problem though, never even noticed until I took it out.

I'd be willing to give up the whole control unit for 50 bucks plus shipping.

Hmm, I'd like to hop in on this thread.
I'm looking for a snowflake button as well. Mine doesn't click anymore, and the button part has been off forever. I have to hold the inside part of the button in with 2 keys for a few minutes until it sticks. It rather sucks.

yeildsign, I may be interested in your climate control if andyk isn't.

Well andy let me know, and if not i'll sell it to you. I'm pretty sure the whole climate control works, but like I said, i KNOW the AC button is new, and we soldered it in. so I assume it can be desoldered (since we desoldered the old one out) and soldered in a different unit.

Actually does anyone have the "defrost" button? My snowflake button is fine (doesn't do anything at the moment until I can replace the a/c compressor and recharge the system) but the defrost one looks like the cat chewed on it.

Thanks Devon, but since I have the button, I guess I can try and glue it in or something. I don't need the whole climate control unit - specially since I am in need of a new compressor/dryer because my AC doesn't hold a charge for more than a few months!

Why is the snowflake button such a hot commodity??

probably a not well manufactured part. Either the light dies, or stops working all together, or breaks like yours. Zero, PM sent.

To clarify, my switch didn't break. Just the cap with the snowflake. The lights and the switch still work (although without the button cap, it doesn't stay on).

Feels like my car is rejecting me! A/C compressor goes, Airbag light keeps flashing on and off...now the snowflake flaked out!

Oh dear, a flakey snowflake!
I suppose you could just glue it back on?...

It's just a poorly manufactured part. The button isn't held on well enough.
