Default What would you pay for my 951?

I'm thinking of trying another car out, and may want to sell my car if I can find the right buyer. How much do you think I could get, assuming I am in no great rush to sell....
mods include everything below, LSD tranny has less than 50K miles, engine has less than 4K miles. Body has 144K miles (practically everythings been replaced though). Paint is in good shape, Porsche script seats are percfect. Usual dash cracks, but comes with a dash cap. Rear Euro bumper will be installed before I sell... All opinions welcome, thanks

It is very hard to say. Finding the "right buyer" could increase the selling price by over 50%. You shold easily get 10 grand, however.

Maybe you should change the title to "How much can you pay for my 951?"

I'm not in the market to purchase, nor do I have a pot-luck guess at value.

But since you said that all opinions are welcome, I would just like to say that car makes me happy in my pants.

My opinion: Not worth selling it this time of year with what you have invested.

The first number that jumped in my head was 15k'ish though..

I know, I am just wondering what I could get. If someone offered me the right value (and I will tell you its not "10K") then I would be willing to let er go.

Modded 951s are hard to sell, finding the right buyer is the key as always.

There are a few things working against the car

1) Color
2) History (many buyers from rennlist would do a search on your previous posts, and the whole running the motor before tuning it thread with the Vitesse kit could come up, as well as your exploints with blowing motors).
2a) History: What books and records do you have showing work done by reputable shops? (this one is speculation on my part, as I think you had Ahmet do most of the work)
3) Car is incomplete with out a suspension.

These are just my thoughts, and i'm jaded after trying to sell my modded 951 for quite some time. You will have lots of tire kickers, and questions, but offers over 12k will be rare.

I have over $10K in reciepts from the past year alone, from the LSD tranny purchase, and the new clutch and engine install from 944online. The car runs fine now by the way, as it would if/when I sold the car. Suspension was next on the list if I keep the car, but im leaning towards a newer car.

Whats wrong with the color?

well i sold my 87 in similiar condition, black with 18 wheels, interior was 9 of 10
had new konis, lowered, 250 lb eibach springs , before i sold it i put new motor mount, oil pan gasket, front belts, seals and water pump, the car was in very good condition the head was worked and i was pushing about 259 hp at the wheels with no upgraded turbo or maf, and i sold it for 9K flat to someone in atlanta. So the Right buyer makes all the difference.
so for your car Id say 10 to 12k is a good range to be looking for, take a look in my gallery on my site
http://www.eightyonemotorsports.com/..._photos___more
and you can see the car to get an idea, all depend in how the market is moving, the area and time of the year

That was a hot car.
I am going to dyno my car to have when I sell the car. I expect to have 350rwhp on pump gas. The car is fast, thats for sure. I would be very happy to sell it for $14K

I'd say take it to PCA track events and try to sell there. A modded 951 may be more desireable at the track.

I would love to see you get that much for it but the market for modified cars is slim. I think 14K is REALLY optimistic, I would be shocked if you got even a few offers in the 12K range.

I am not saying it is WORTH 12K, I just dont think you will get a lot of offers higher than that.

This has nothing to do with 944s and everything to do with the nature of buying modified cars. There is almost no amount of documentation that will make someone comfortable with "your" work. Good luck, though. When mine is done (shortly) I will be asking in the same range, in the hopes of getting 12-13K
