Heh kinda funny, my parents 98 F-150 has 165K miles on it! Thats 27.5K miles a year! Which everything is original except the altnator and drive shaft seal.

i believe these high mile, original engine cars are the real deal, the endurance of porsche. these were the good ones that came out of zuffenhousen.
for as old as the car is, i smile when i drive it hard - it just wants to go.
i'm a little biased.

My turbo made it to 178k with an unopened engine and original trans.
It received new bearings/rings and an upgraded trans. Going on the original rods, pistons, main bearings, etc. @ currently 235k or so, and a new owner.
Current 951 has 130k, but is tighter than any I've seen, including ones with less than 70k miles. The above car, on which I rebuilt the engine, leakdown was w/in 2% across the board 50k miles after the rebuild. Yeah, I'd say these engines can last if taken care of.

Mosts 944 variants were made at Neckarsulm (about 52Km from Zuffenhausen) . The 944 engines were made in Zuffenhausen and then shipped to Neckarsulm, though, so you are partially correct.

I recently sold an '89 S2 with 172,8XX miles. Awesome car, original motor with tons of hard track miles on it. Never failed me---impressive.

I have 194,648 miles on the 1984 NA with the original engine, trans and clutch. Nothing has been every opened up except for belts and H2O pump, and seals. I have put on 103k of them myself. Still runs real strong! The 83' Callaway 944T has 32k original miles with a 2000mi rebuilt engine.

From: Central Illinois. Cornfields a plenty.
Just turned 117K on the odometer. Last I heard Andy was over the 310K mark or so- but he's driving the black beast now so I dont see those numbers going up except during track days.
anyone have over 400K? I had a good friend who gave his 1972 Volvo wagon to his sister in 1982 with 300K miles, it is still running with over 775K miles...and is now being driven by a 3rd generation in the same family.
It was nicknamed "rusty but trusty" in the mid 90's..
