took the window out to put speakers in and was a bitch to get out from inside the car. Can't imagine it coming out that way. Any other ideas?

(BTW thanks for responding so fast)

Check your PM Jeeper. If your really in a bind, ill be home wendsday morning. We can try using my key as ive read a number of times this actually works sometimes. Otherwise we can make it a fun day of stuffing a coathanger down the door and jiggling it around .

Seriously though, check the methods i sent too you via PM.

Thanks to all (both) of you who helped. I have retrieved my keys from the inner clutches of the 944S in a record breaking 1 hour and 9 minutes. I have also extracted the spare set of keys which were also in the car and have placed them in a safe place so I will never have to remove the rear window again.

FWIW, there's a 'trick' to open the rear hatch aswell... it's been awhile since I read the info, but it's here somewhere in the archives. It's a lot less time consuming than pulling the window (or so people say).

I don't know/remember it... shoot, I don't even remember who posted the info (though I think it was through PMs mostly based on requests in a thread)... surely the info can't be lost, someone here knows. It had something to do with the cable release to pop the hatch.. I think. heh. Sorry...

I never paid much attention as I had a spare key stuck in the light access pannel infront of the drivers side front wheel.

Dan

Did you get a "wallet key" when you purchased the car? I keep mine tattooed to my rear end! I have had so many people ask what that little key was for and everyone thought it was for the gas cap or GB.

The early cars had license plate lights that you can unscrew from outside the car, later cars do not. Use your imagination as to what you can access through that opening.

Dal,

What is a wallet key? Where can I get one? How you doing with your MSN thing? Good to see you're still around.

Dan....I won't go into the MSN thing catch up on the other thread. But as far as the wallet key goes it is a normal looking key with a very small plastic head. Apprx 1.5" long maybe 2". With the key in the ignition the portion you grip to turn the key is about the size of a dime and black plastic.

Do you have the car manuals? I believe the key is attached to one of them in a slot inside the cover. Most likely gone. How many keys did the PO give you?

You can make your own. If you have the spare with the lighted head. The key just clips into the head. Remove and make a small head to put on the key. The wallet key can be used as a regular key by removing the small head and cliping the new lighted head on. This is how you can make a spare instead of having another key made.
