Have you adjusted the freeplay at the pedal yet? 1/8" is spec for that and it does make a difference on a worn clutch. It's the last thing I will do when I finish mine tomorrow. Does yours have any clunk at all?

When you dump the clutch hard the rubber gives enough to drive off of the three metal tangs.

Also, though nobody added it for a reason in the "how do you park your car" thread, it's also a bad idea to let the weight of the car rest on these tangs before setting the parking brake on an incline, especially if the car will sit idle for a while since the rubber is under a constant twist deformity.

There's a certain "feel" that's missing when you replace with spring centered disc so we replaced mine with original rubber style (87 944S). The original had gone over 100,000 miles.
I rather the feel than my dad's turbo (spring centered)

andy,
thats my brothers old car. Skoot bought it from him. I still have the lug nuts for the cookie cutters and owners manual waiting for scott to pick up.

well, it's me and scott who are doing the car together. he actually brought home a friend from school and so there were three of us tonight. as to how long it took, i'll let you know when we finish we put in a pretty long day last friday, but the second half of saturday and all of sunday we struggled with the clutch fork pin since the rubber center melted all around it. i got the pin out this week after we put a system in place on sunday so that it would come out. today we worked from about 7pm to 5:00am with breaks for food and hanging out a bit. if you just straight work, the pace gets to be a bit rough and the job loses it's fun factor. at this point, we have everything up to and including the transmission back in. all that's left is that the exhaust and axles have to go on, and the speed and reference sensors.

No clunk in mine. It's probably a dumb question, but how do you adjust the pedal on these things? I'm used to a manual linkage and this seems to be hydraulic.

you have to get in the car upside down with you head in the driver's footwell. the adjustment is at the pedal becuase there's no cable to adjust under the hood. there's a little (i think 13mm) nut on the back of the pedal assembly that has to be turned for the adjustment. see if this pic helps you out:

Tom .. yea i need to pick all of those things up from you. It's just been a very busy two weekends. I'll try to grab them tuesday unless you would be going in the direction of either my or Andrew's house and would like to drop it off
