Default For Sale/Parts - 1984 Porsche 944 - Accident but driveable

As it says, I had posted pictures and the incident about my 944 and the left turn. The insurance company ignored my valid arguements and decided in the other driver's favor. Not only that, it was a loaner car of a dealership here in Edmonton, one of 13 owned by the richest man in Edmonton, how poetic isn't it. Really what's $1200 to this man to fix some bumper on 1 of his possibly 1000 vehicles of all his dealerships.... anyhow, the car

It's driveable, runs strong, shifts well, interior needs TLC (stripped) minus the seats and console of course. I'm debating selling the entire car or parting it piece by piece. Shoot me an offer for the car, or if you need parts let me know.

I have near everything except the interior carpeting. The door is dented but everything on it works, the rims may or may not come with the car depending on the price. I also have a set of 15" cookie cutters that are NEAR MINT! They have rubber on em that's been used for one season only. I'm selling those, along with my sway bars and a few other goodies I don't have on the car. Pics will be posted of course.

I also forgot to mention this could possibly be a bodyman's special. I can get ALL the parts needed to fix this car for a mere $750 cdn. That's a new passenger door, new rear 1/4 panel, phone dial rim, tire, lower control arm, and spindle (they're not bent badly at all). The engine doesn't puff, doesn't smoke, doesn't tick, the tranny is only stiff in reverse, no e-brake but everything else works for the car. I really wish things hadn't gone this way but they have and I need a car for University and I can't be driving my sister for the next year with her climbing over the driver's side because the passenger door doesn't open.

Anywho, I hope this goes quick, I'm not looking for much. A friend of mine at a wrecker's/parts place said he'd give me $1400 CDN for the entire car so that's a benchmark for those of you who are interested, to offer.

If you were going to spend all the money on this:

"fibreglass front end - installed soon (100lbs+ savings)
chipped dme - installed soon, say hello to 7000rpm redline
20mm rear sway and 28.6mm front sway - installed
K&N intake sytem - installed
F/R coil-over suspension on it's way soon
agressive high lift cam on it's way soon
test pipe on it's way soon "

Why not just spend the $750 on the parts you need to fix it? It certainly would take less $$ than that just to get it drivable, then you could get it back to tip top shape later at your leisure. Why take a bath on the car now?

1/2 those parts were on their way, I canceled them. The fibreglass front end and parts I sold back to the seller at the same price. The sway bars will be sold serperately and I won't be taking a bath on them. Right now if I sell the car as it is and I have $4000 invested. What's better, to lose 2500 now with 4000 invested, or lose 5000 later with 8000 invested? It's the same thing. If I fix this car at my leisure that's $3000+parts, 4000... 4000 into it with 4000 invested already that's 8000 of which I will never get more than $5000 for it, i'm almost in the same boat. I need a car that the passenger door can open, the wheel well doesn't scrape against the tire on bumps, something that can go faster than 80 kph. I've gone the other route before with my first car and it's not a route I wish to go again.

Just trying to help. It doesn't really look that bad. A used door, another wheel, a little suspension tweeking and you could be back on the road fast and cheap. If you already know that the motor and the rest of the car is in good shape, that's a plus knowing what you already have. Buying another used car could just be buying someone else's big problem. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

How much were you thinking on the cookie cutters? May be interested if freight from Canada isn't too abnormal. Do you have any pics you could send of the CC's?

BUMP, smokin deal for a project track car that STILL RUNS and is DRIVEABLE. Ppl ask this much for a 944 shell with no electronics or interior!

If you still have it in a 2-3 weeks I might be interested.
Things are a little fubar'd right now, just snagged an 87 951.

I might be picking up a project 944, which will need a motor and perhaps transmission after this.

Lol, well I will see how things turn out with this project car. It's an 86, but I can always drill the block to accept the second temperature sender, it's no big deal.

I dunno, every time I go to Edmonton, I think the same thing, but yet there are quite a few peopel who live there...

Hey, do you still have the car? Could you tell me a few things about it?... I may be interested in it.
How's the interior?
How is the front end?
Do you have any pics of the front end/interior?
Milage?
If everything is looking alright, I'm willing to make you an offer on it.
Please either post here or PM me with details =)
