I'm very ambivalent about what the market value of my car would be at some time in the future. I bought this car instead of buying something like a golf membership at a cheap club or a fishing boat or whatever. It is a hobby and a chance to enjoy what is undeniably a great machine (and by enjoy that mean working on the car as well as driving it). Some day I hope to have a concours level car but I know I will have put WAY more into it (in terms of both time and money) than I might ever get out of it, even with the most wild and unbelievable amount of appreciation. I have to agree that cars are (usually) the farthest thing away from an investment. They are more like going to movies... money you spend to enhance your enjoyment of life. As far as cars for enthusiasts go, the 944 series is one heck of a bargain but the flip side of that is that they are in no significant way an investment.

If you have enjoyed your 944 ownership, than you have recieved a great deal IMO.

Thanks!

(Oh, I MIGHT sell mine for as little as $400,000 )

Well - I have three takers at the "Buy It Now" price of $500,000. One is an interesting gentleman from Nigeria who actually is willing to pay more than the asking price. The second is a bidder with zero feedback from Russia who is inquiring about shipping costs and Ruble conversion factors. And the third is a fellow named John Titor (or something like that). Evidently he's a friend of Red UFO.
