tifo -give Jim a call at the shop (704-882-6466) if he doesn't see this thread again and respond, and ask him to give you the scoop on the similar unit.

He's got the straight dope on dat.

Phantoslips are a joke! I ran a 80% lock ZF in my S2 and liked it very much.... Think I paid 1200.00 for it.... I am not a FAN a quifes or other torsen diffs for there lack of tuning capabilities.... I much rather have a plate diff, espeicaly now that I rally...

I think GT was making a plate unit for the 944 box? but that was a few years ago when I was into the car......

I run a KAAZ in my rally car 100% lock!! its fantastic!!

I have research both the guard and the Quaffie. Both are very good but cost is $1200 to 1500 just for the units.

I'm trying to work with a limited budget though...

Larry, are you talking about a locker or a spool? A spool-type locker keeps both rear tires spinning the same speed ALL THE TIME. This is not a good thing for any driving where you have to turn on asphalt, and I don't even know if they make these for our cars - I know more about lockers in trucks.
