Default fuel pressure damper

i started smelling gas from the engine so i checked all lines in the engine that had to do with fuel. the lines were fine so i checked everything else fuelrail, injectors etc. the culprit is the fuel pressure damper i didnt know if fuel passed thru this so it seemed ackward but sure enough it's dripping gas from the underside of it .if this is right do i have to change the damper or is there a gasket and do i have to remove the whole fuel rail to change it.any sugestions would be greatly appreciated

I think you need to take off the fuel rail, at least I think it's easier if you remove it. I never had to replace the damper, but I removed the fuel rail when I replaced the FPR.

Think of it as an opportunity to reseal the injectors.
