I have a volleyball tournament the 1st Saturday in December, but might be able to make it if it's later in the day.

If it has to be the first weekend... the saturday would be the best day because i have to be at volleyball tryouts on the sunday.. i'm coaching a club team. If we have it the 11-12 that saturday afternoon would be the best for me cause i will be in indy for the PRI show anyway...

I would be able to attend on 12/3 or 12/10. I have business parties on 12/4, 12/11 and 12/18.

You definitely need to go to Fasttimes when it is still above freezing. I did a LeMans style 2 hour race there with 2 person teams last February. They have no insulation in the walls. It was 0F degrees outside. Same inside. It looked like a special stage rally in Finland...except it was on blacktop. One of my buddies hit a wall and actually got hurt. It was lots of fun. My team won.

Fast times is a good time. I think Friday nights they are guaranteed open to the public.

I'm going to be out of town the entire weekend of Dec 4-5 for my son's gymnastics competition; other weekends should be OK for me.

As an aside, we should organize a kart outing for Rennlisters or 944 guys sometime this spring. Nothing big, just a fun event. We could have it at Newcastle Raceway. It looks like an awesome track. They have group rentals.

If not there, we could have it at Fasttimes or the old Stefan Johansson place, I can't recall its new name.

Prodrive Karting, I worked there a few years ago while in high school (shortly). Very unprofessional and the karts are junk, but the track is good, if they don't powder the turns. I once heard Stefan call an F40 that Ferrari gave him a piece of junk. Anyways, I'd definately be up for a rennlist kart race sometime.

ProDrive Karting closed this summer... and the karts that they rent at newcastle suck.. they have little lawn mower engines in them. The other good track in the indy area is on the south side called whiteland raceway...

FastTimes would probably be the best place to have a karting event, but it costs a lot... Team Rose Motorsports, the motorsports club here at rose, was looking into renting it as a club outing, but we found out that it costs less to rent putnam park for a day then it does to rent FasTimes...

just my $.02

I forgot something.... lol... the only thing with Whiteland is we would have to wait until the spring to do it because it is an outdoor track...

Thank you wombat7. I was going to add that as when I passed the joint on my way to and from the F1 race and quals this year, it appeared to have gone belly up. Tis a pity. Indy PCA region had a "meet the drivers nite" a few years back with big Stefan J of course, Little Al , Juan P. Montoya during his last 500, Jimmy Vasser, Robby Gordon etc. Mixed it up with the local folk and they were happy to chat as well. Prolly did 20 runs at the place over the years. I may shoot up for your GTG just to see the new place if you'll let some SOW people come along...
( Note: S.O.W. 2 liter Hookah NOT included! )
I'll keep an eye out.

Bummer about Prodrive and New Castle's crappy karts. I agree that FastTimes is a bit overpriced. The track is nothing special, it reminds of something on MarioKart. New Castle's track looks awesome though. Looks like Whiteland might be a good choice.

Back to the GTG...so who is going to make the decision on the date? Should we setup a poll with potential dates?
