spent some time at the garage cutin rust out of the floor of the 914 today and oh what fun it was. I also did a ghetto photoshop of what my paint etc is gonna look like when the car is done. I know ive said that its a top secret project, but here it is...first my floor, then what the car looked like when i bought it, and then what it will look like in a few months......ENJOY!

house of colors shimron glamour met. silver w/ black lower and a candy blue stripe....

Looks good! What happens on the hood of the car? Does the black just jog down to the hood line or what???

well, i couldnt get real detailed on paint program- the line actually will follow the contour of the top of the fenders and go into front marker light and end. The black bumper will carry the line across the front of the car.

Yeah, if I may advise, leave the sound deadening stuff out of it. That's what trapped most of the water between itself and the floor. I thought it held up rather well for 30 years :-p

lucky me, someone has already welded up all the rockers, pans and battery tray stuff, but didnt get the rear of the floor/firewall fixed right. OH, and the sound deadening is already gone.

WOW your going to paint the entire car in "House of color" Now that will be impressive....I know first hand from painting bike parts, and that stuff is not cheap, and we buy it by the pint....! Lookin good, By the looks of your progress and motivation I think we would get along quite nicely...Wanna start a shop together...? Keep it up man, I want to see more progress pics...

actually house of colors is not that bad, cheaper than chromabase in some cases. Silver is only like $30. a quart IIRC. THe topcoat colors are somewhat more though.
