*UPDATE*

Painted! STUNNING and speechless. Having this new factory Amethyst code L38a paint WAY overpowers a brown interior, brown door jams and brown engine compartment. I'll post more photos when its finished, this is one Libra sent me. I can't believe how much better it makes me feel looking at it. Just wait until I drive it

Thumbs up

That's a girly color...

Kidding!! Looks like a new car!! Very cool. And the brown interior kinda goes with that color anyway!

$400 for the car, and $XX for the paint job??

I'm going to look at it in person on Friday - can't wait. It does look like a new Porsche. I am trading out labor for labor (web design/graphic design/Art Direction) for the paint job. I'm painting the centers of my 7" & 8" Fuchs to Stone grey metallic or a darker than silver grey rather than factory satin black. Amethyst is my daughter Portia's birthstone color, she turns 8 this month and gets to bail on her car seat, so she can use the trick little rear 944 seats now rather than sit in the front. She said, Dad, you better get it painted by my birthday!"

Yaaa, I've watched enough of Chip Foose on OVERHAULIN lately, my wife and I agreed... just had to do my own TS design!

Andy,
[a little OT but kewl...] Yes, Portia Renaud Smith AND she was born 9lbs 11oz. A Portia RS 911 !! She's the best little person in the world. We didn't plan the weight (of course) and if it was a boy we were going to name him Hunter. I lucked out and we had Portia. I didn't even think about using my wife's family name as her middle name at the time! I grew up around Porsches and my first car I ever drove was my Father's 1969 911E back in 1975, he's on his third Porsche [Carrera 3.0] since 1967. Porsche's are like family.

Amethyst was my original choice. Then I was swayed by the original color crowd - keep it Mahogany Brown. Then, I came back to my gut feeling, glad I did. It's STUNNING! The color is very close to the original Mahogany Brown but with more reds and blues. I think of it as a factory upgrade because this color wasn't available unitl 1992.

Riff, Nice choice of rides! Audi //S6 and a Porsche 944S2. Sounds familiar.
