Well, there's a lot even Porsche mechanics don't know about these cars, but you probably covered the basics and are aware of the cam chain risk.

You have 45 K on a 2003? It's a good thing you have Rennlist!

Note to other lurkers: you don't have to have a car to hang here. Erstwhile 944 owners are welcome too.

Also, I'm sure you know that even at 60k miles, the plastic pads on your tensioner are still over 15 years old, and very brittle by now. Just change it!!

Amazingly bad design by Porsche. You would think the shape of the base (minus the plastic pad) would at least be rounded, so that the chain would glide over it, but make a warning noise or something. The plastic breaks, and the chain catches the angular pointy base...and it's all over. Silly.

Thanks... I already know more than average Porsche owner (at least I would like to belive so ), but everything, i don't know, there's always gonna be something that will surprise me or you in that matter.
