edit.. i see we would be a 911 sub forum..the 912 boards are comming around here and more and more people are posting there. putting it as a sub board under 911 would basically make it useless here because no one would look under 911 for 912 info.. we do not consider ourselves to be 911s.
Harry, Harry, Harry... now, you know I meant absolutely no disrespect to the venerable 912. If the 12'ers won't hang out at the 911 booth then I guess there's sufficient need to separate to neutral corners - not my call, though. However, let me see if I've got the lineage right: the 912, in 1965, was a 911 shell wrapped around a slightly detuned 356SC engine. The physical characteristics of the 912 are identical to the 911 except for lux optional items. In my mind, I've always qualified the 912 as a derivative of the 911 and the 356 - a brilliant marketing tactic in the day. Anywho, fire in the hole

If you were/are setup for despensing homebrews, I'd send you a full 5-gallon keg of your choice. Or if you're ever in this part of AZ (for Gods only know what reason anyone would come HERE), I'd despense it myself.

i know skip, just bustin you stones

yup lineage is exactly right. 911 with detuned 356 sc powerplant. yeah.. it is a derivitive of both (and i admit to going to the 911 boards when i wanna do upgrades etc). but 912ers feel a resentment towards the 911 crowd for the most part.. that whole youre not good enough thing. so we turn inwards for support. the 912 boards here are finally getting some actuion on them, and i would be affraid that people would assume the 912 boards dont exist if they dont see a section out in the open.. (because most wouldnt think to look under the 911 board).

btw.. anything that was available for a 911 was available for a 912. you just had to buy the option. (factory isnt gonna turn someone down because its a different model.. they want the money if someones got it!). just most decided not to buy some of the lux items (they were buying a low end porsche for a reason..$$). other did..

no fire in the hole. all is good.
