Default Wheel/Tire Fitment

What would I have to do exactly to ge these to fit my '87 944S?

These rims

Bend over and bolt them on

You might ever so slight a spacer to make the fron center caps work.

Probably nothing at all...they should fit fine. You might want to upgrade to the 968 castor block to allow for the added wear and tear from 17's.

I have those rims and the same sized tires on my S2 and they do not rub in back.

No Spacers needed. Cleared the front dust cap just fine.

Any performance difference between 16's and 17's? If not tracking the car does it matter?

Nope, not one bit. You might notice a slighly stiffer ride with more bumps coming through with the 17" wheels. Buy some Michelin tyres, they're really quiet and comfy.

They show up on ebay quite a lot. That's where I got my set of 993 Cups.
