As far as I am concerned paint cleaning clay is the greatest stuff on earth! It belongs in every detailer's tool box. Perfectly safe, fast and easy to use. I have come across a few things on paint that don't come off with the clay but by and large it takes off tons of crap that you didn't even know was bonded to your paint.

Zap any type of tree sap with a can of Goof-Off, found in all hardware/homebuilder supply stores. First, clean the target surface with Anyhydrous Isopropyl(99%) Alcohol, which preps the hardened tree matter to melt away after the smelly adhesive remover is applied. If the booger is stubborn-
repeat liberally applying the Goof-Off again. Eventually, the muck turns to jelly and you rub it away.

Be sure to remove the solvent with the alcohol again. Goof-Off is safe for enamel-based paint surfaces. Waxing the car so the alcohol's drying affects, dont oxidize the paint is a good way to restore the paint, and seal moisture and micro-pores wont hurt also.
