Default "Monster Garage" does the 944

This past weekend's episode (at least north of the border) featured the modification (or desecration, depending on your perspective) of an early black 944 N/A. I tuned in a bit late so I did not see the condition of the car initially, but it did have chromed Fuchs!

Anyway, they turned the car into a golf-ball picker-upper (like those screened-in lawn tractors you see at the driving range). The ***** were picked up behind the rear wheels with a coil thingy, then transported by a conveyor belt to a basket where the rear passenger side would be. This is where it gets wacky...the ***** then were fed into this three-barrell cannon poking through a metal clown's face and out the passenger door. They had turned the passenger door into a gull-wing contraption. Both the door and cannon were driver-controllable. All of the glass was replaced by metal mesh.

Like I said...some might call it desecration. But I didn't hear any NARP BS so that was good.

The part I liked best was that they had thoughtfully broomed most of the exhaust system...it sounded wicked being revved inside the garage!

I think that was the 3rd or 4th episode, the first was the fire engine / limo. I like how they normally ditch stock wheels for something aftermarket and chrome, but they kept the Fuch's and just chromed them!

FYI: The first episode of Monster Garage was the ~'90 Lawnmower Mustang GT Convertible.

Well,
I think the first episode filmed was the mustang mower. I do however think the 944 one was the first one aired. I remember watching that from the beginning and the mustang mower came later in the first season.

The 944 / golf ball thrower was on display on the Vegas Strip - overall shape was poor. Year later I met Jessie in Vegas - kinda weird now that I think about it.

I'm going to agree with the group, the 944 was not the first episode shown on TV. I started watching it when it first started, didn't see the 944 for a while. If I can find my VHS tapes of it, I'll see since I taped the first season in order.

Hmm I guess I missed the first few. The exploder dump truck did come after the 944 however, but before the limo fire engine.

SamGrant: I agree with U.

As I recall, the first aired show was the Explorer garbage truck. But in a behind the scene episode, Jessie said the Mustang was the very first one that they built and it was the pilot episode that started it all.
