Default Mahle filters, anti-drain back valve

Using stock filters the car would take 1-2 seconds on a cold start, using a remote oil filter located below the stock filter...I get oil pressure instantaneaously.

So, the anti-drain back valve in the Mahle (OC-142) filter is not all its cracked up to be.

when you say stock, do you mean Porsche filters? I use Porsche filters, and they've got the anti-drain back valve...

How do the Bosch filters compare to the Mahle? From reading alot of previous posts i have read to be wary of the Mahle filters. Everyone was comparing different filters like the K&N, STP, Wix...etc. But to my knowledge noone ever mentioned the Bosch.

Adrial, the valve works fine, it's the inverted mounting boss that's draining to cause your 2 second wait - no valve prevents that, only solution is what you have, invert the mounting boss and point the filter somewhat downward.

Can you post pics of your remote filter setup?

Anything you buy for our cars has the anti drainback valve, it's a matter of how well they are constructed that makes a difference. The "Porsche" branded filters that are marked as made in the USA appear to be made by Champion Labs, who make a lot of the filters on the market. I have used Mahle filters a couple times in the past and found the anti drainback valve wouldn't hold oil in the filter well at all after a couple hundred miles. I have never had this issue with Purolator or Mobil 1 (also made by Champion Labs) filters. In fact I haven't even had this problem with Fram filters in the past, though I am reluctant to use Fram filters due to how notoriously poor their construction and quality is said to be.
