what different cap..?? whatever, the timing order is the same (1,3,4,2) and I think should match that image...but I'll check

btw front to back is 1, 2, 3, 4 (but I know you know that) just for the record

Yea.... Ii tried starting the car again on a fully charged battery - same problem. It would stop turning, backfire, and pause before it tried to start again :P

Yea, I have brand new 8mm wires Im about 95% sure they are where they should be.

When the engine kills, a lot of the lights go dim on the dash, and I have to turn the key back to term 15 tostart it again :P

Man, I go away for the weekend and look at all the fun I've missed. (I was in Boston -- what a ball game!)

Anyhow, if have the 968 distributor cap, from top to bottom: 3-1-2-4 (match the picture in the sticker below). I hope this does it!

Yea, its a lindsey. Its the only way I could think to create a descemt air box with the new engine. Thanks for the spark plug pattern, Ill give that a try!

The engine was last running maybe 6 months ago :P I havent checked the spray pattern of the injectors - I planned on using some carb cleaner for the engine and some injector additive, then investigating if I need anything more.

IT RUNS!!!!!! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

It was the distributor pattern. Another 12 pack goes to Joe!!!!

I have to adjust the throttle cable, when I started the car it went way above idle... I need a little more slack in the cable. Also, I need to buy more oil, after runnning the engine for a sec, it distributed all the oil everywhere..... So, Ill BRB!!! quick trip to wal-mart for some mobile 1.

Well, no one sells a blasted throttle cable. I’m going to have to find something, or get imaginative :P I’ve already noticed a few things that don’t quite work : the tach, both radiator fans, and the fuel gauge. I think I’m just going to hook up the radiator fan to term 15, since I’m not really going to drive the car in the winter. I think I can fix the tach, and maybe the fuel gauge.

Jared, glad things are going well for you with the conversion. Needless to say I know how frustrating these things can be and I know how exciting they can be as well. I'm glad we're both having good luck this week.

Take care,
Matt

Hey, Matt.... How are things coming along with your project??? Any good news??

No prob Kevin, you did as much as you could! All I need is a length of cable, and I could cut it myself. Either that, or Im going to mod the pulley so its a bit smaller.

Jared
