No, I dont have a pulsing 12 volts from the DME, only a constant. Since 12 volts are applied to both sides of the coil now, shouldent I at least get a spark? I just got a new coil, so that cant be the problem.

the small black wire supplies 12volts to one side...if you remove the green wire and test that terminal (without the green wire connected) you should have 12volts (coming through the coil from the black lead) in reference to chassis ground

"ohm out' the green lead (not now connected to the coil) to ground...should be VERY high ohms in reference to chassis ground

low ohms to chassis ground and we have a problem

btw...it would be a 'pulsing' ground applied to the coil from the DME unit on the green wire

do you have a 968 alarm control box with a connector pin 1 (black/red) and a pin 3 (green)?

Ok, Im a dumbass. I thought that the green leed went to term 15. I tested its voltage, and it barely had any. I ohmed out pin #1 on the DME (ignition) and the green wire, and it read 5.5..... pritty high. So, I played with pin #7 (connecter in the pass footwell) which Todd said had to do with the alarm. I supplied power from term 15, than from term 30, than just grounded it. All had no effect on the voltage output on the green coil wire.

with green disconnected from the coil you measure ONLY 5.5 ohms to ground??

that would be almost a 'short circuit' to ground

unplug the DME unit and measure it again

does the connector have black/red wire on pin 1 and a green wire on pin 3 ?

Ok..... re checking everything, here is what I found:

Ohms between green coil wire and pin#1 of the dme 00.020 (shows continuity)
Ohms between green coil wire and ground (while ignition is off) 89.200
Ohms between green coil wire and ground (while ignition is on) 00.652
Volts of green wire when ignition is in start 00.076

that's another thing I'm curious about...what does that box plug into?

near the DME unit are there any other connector(s) with nothing plugged into - that maybe that alarm control box is supposed to go to?

Only that connection in the pass footwell..... Looking at Todd's chart, the only pin associated with the alarm is #7.
