Need to sell wheels look what I just won

Congratulations!
On the other hand, I think the end is near for me... I had been watching eBay like a hawk to get my father a pair of those Boxster S wheels. I have a set of them on the "Red Rocket," and my father really likes them. I had only seen two sets of them on eBay during the past two and a half months, with both of them going for $1600 plus, and the tires with which they were shod were not in very good condition. You got one awesome deal, Tom! If I hadn't lost track of eBay during the past week, due to a trip to D.C., you would have definitely had some bidding competition. Congratulations again!

they arent for me. they are for my brother's 89 NA. I am perfectly content with the 968 rims I had to wrestle back from you Marc. I think I may prefer the look of the 968 wheels, or the knowledge of the left rear wheels rubbing.
It was very quiet at work today and all my lunch buddies were not around. I punched in porsche just to see what was there and saw the wheels with no bids. right at that moment my brother called and i asked if he wanted them. He wasnt sure what they looked like. I said like the boxster crabs I had on the red S2 only rounder. Sure WTF bid on them. Now there are just too many rims around. my D90s, his phone dials, the salad shooters from the Z28 for autocross, the 10 spokes with snows for the Z28, the caddy DTS rims with snows for the aurora. no room for cars in the garage.
I guess if they rub on his car we will try them on mine and if they dont rub i am stuck with them.

I agree Tom...the 968 rims just look more like they belong on our cars. I love the look of the Silver 89 with the phone dials. And call me crazy, but the front bumpers of the older cars are nicer IMHO. Very raw and racey looking compared to the snub-nose look of the Turbo bumper.
Also, that Firebird is a classic! You look at it, and instantly know what it is!

That's a good price Tom. Aren't those the wheels you had on your red S2?
With those offsets they should fit his 89 NA like a glove.

One factor in getting a good deal may be that the seller misspelled "Boxster" in the eBay headline.
I read an article recently that stated mispellings are common on eBay. When the seller fails to spell the item name correctly, fewer people see it in their searching, so fewer bids are placed! I must confess to doing a few searches for "PORCHE" since reading the article...

I could really use a pair of rears if someone has them lying around. I am using them at all 4 corners and I could use a spare set.
FWIW, the 7s can be bought for 50 bucks a piece just about anywhere, last time I called around.

Tom R, I'm a set ahead of you in the wheel set storage count so I feel your pain. Winters for my Audi, All seasons for the Miata, 2 sets for the VW's, the old 15" Phone dials and my ex's barely used snows for a Volvo 940 wagon (Relationship hold out, which are now for sale if any of you east coasters want some Volvo snows.)
Sounds like you need a bigger garage But then again, so do I!
You can never have too many wheels!

Just curious--do you guys all pay the usual $20 per wheel when you switch the tires from one rim to another? Having a bunch of wheels is cool, but actually switching from set to set can get expensive!

I always figure a tire shop that charges $20 for the whole job will scratch something! My X-mechanic charged $20 a wheel with mounting and balancing! D'oh!
Since I only have one set of rims, I change the tires once per car usually (I've had 3 cars in the last 3 years)!
