NOt so fast- mine by no means as nice as Jason's or Jeff's, but I'm partial to it..

I've already cast my vote, a few times, actually. I can assure you the 944fest will never again give "Grand Champion" awards without taking a VOTE. I may present 'Host's Choice' (wink, wink, Winslow) but I discovered at 'Fest 04 there are TOO many PERFECT cars out there to make selections. Really guys, many of these cars look better than they left the factory. How to pick one over another just comes down to personal taste in mods, colors, wheels, etc. It is an insult to guys with imaculate red cars, for example, if the voter just happens to like black and overlooks a lot of hard work. If it matters, the past Grand Champions of 944fest include Perry951, Brad K(factory as new 7K mile silver rose car) and Dan87951. (I don't believe I awarded any trophies in 02) Past Champions are retired and not considered for competition in following years. I feel a bit guilty all Champions have been 951s. Thus, my personal taste biasing the choice. Next year the choice will be in the hands of those in attendance. It is very, very hard to pick the "most beautiful"..take the track babes thread, for example.. how to pick? (If you aren't a member, you are missing the best OT thread EVER!- 60,000 + VIEWS!)

Isn't perfect... whose is? His paint is in great shape, if it wasn't he wouldn't have won the "Grand Champion 944Fest '04" trophy!

So many nice ones.

Of the ones Ive seen, Perrys is probably the most amazing in light of the story and time he put into it. That dude should open his own shop. Petes has probably come the furthest in the shortest amount of time. Fisheys S2 cab is very very nice. HP Farms car makes me **** myself. I only wish my car was running well back at Taj to even run "a little bit" with his. I had my FPR issues and Im sure I hacked him off by slowing the pace with my lurching automobile. Dans is right up there.

I already have my name at the top of the list for Kurt's 86 red on champagne turbo with fuchs whenever he decides to sell.

Oh yeh, Brad's 12,000 mile Turbo S. Yum.

Finally a big soft spot for Samis car as he represents the graphite peeps in Europe.

This all depends on your definition of beautiful. I am a form follows function guy and nothing is more beautiful than car like Jasons 968TRS complete with battle scars. Don't get me wrong, the pristine concourse cars are nice, but seeing a nicely put together competition car really gets me going. I was at a car show a couple of years ago in San Diego, and saw Shelby Cobra. At first glance at a distance I assumed it was a replica and although they are cool, they're getting pretty common. Well, as I got close I saw it was covered with competition stickers, the paint was faded and chipped, etc, and I realized it was an original comp car - made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Even though it was far from concourse, there was an intangible about the car that made it simply awesome.

Duke.. congrats on having a truely UNIQUE car. There is no mistaking that one for any others. The rest of us might see something close to a twin at a show someday, I don't think you have that problem. I really like those dark (gunmetal?) wheels, If I do my rims on my Glacier Girl I'm going to give a hard look at something similar.
