Default Will pay someone $200 to help me get my motor in my car and running... MA/NH area.

I am looking for someone to help me put my motor in my 944 and get it running. I am in Middleton MA. there is one thing on the motor that needs to be replaced (please see pics) then I have to get the motor in the car and get it all running. Someone said it could be accomplished in about 5 hours.. I know $200 isn't a lot but I was told by a lot of people that I could probabally get it done for the price of a 6-pack but that doesn't seem to be working out. so if you think you can help me out please let me know. I'm a college kid so I can do it on fridays, saturdays or sundays... other days if you let me know ahead of time. I appreciate all feedback... thanks guys.. check out the pics.

thanks I appreciate it. yea I'm really anxious to get the car on the road and running before it gets cold... and I also plan on driving it across country to LA soon, so its becomming necessairy to get the job done soon... hopefully someone comes through. I know people tell me that its easy and I can do it and they will walk me through but I dont have that kind of time and if I mess one thing up it'll screw the whole car up and I dont have time or money for that... thanks for the good wishes though

It looks from the photo that the front jack stand is positioned under the cupped part of the underbody just behind the front wheel well. This is NOT a recommended place for jack stands. Refer to your owner's manual for the correct locations. Be safe!

Hell, if ya fly me out, and give me a place to stay, and maybe a brew or 5, I'd see if I can clear up my schedule...

yeah, I just completed this very job, not too bad once you are at the point you are at. I've got plenty of tips for you, fly me there and I'd love to help you out!
seriously, there is a ton of knowledge on the board, why not just get your feet wet and see what happens?

i'm on long island and i'd be willing to help you out possibly next weekend. i don't know if you'd actually like my help, as i've never installed a 944 engine before. i have decent mechanical sense and would be happy to work together with you. unfortunately, if you want a pro, i'm not him. however, i also wouldn't ask for $200 because my skills in this area dont' command it

What exactly is it that broke?

If replacing the part isn't too intensive, I think 3-5 of us who are mechanically inlined shouldu be able to slap that engine back in. But it's your car. Get whoever you need to feel comfortable! I don't think any of us are expecting money, so if all else fails, you'll at least probably get farther along than you are now.

I already got the replacement but I think what broke is called the lower balance shaft front housing\PS pump mount... to replace it I have to get all those gears off the front and take off the plastic cover, then replace the part and put all of them back on spaced correctly and get the belts aligned correctly... as far as what needs to be done... that part needs to be replaced, the clutch and all that has to be put on correctly and then the engine needs to be put in. I hear its not TOO difficult but I dont want to mess anything up... let me know if your definately down for next weekend and we can set something up, I'd love to see 4-5 people bring up their P-cars and spend an afternoon on mine, that would be awesome.. but I'd love even more if one person there knew exactly what they were doing.
