Did the original glove box crest (that slides over the lock) on an early 944 have any red in it? Mine is gold with black stripes and lettering, no red. Anyone know where I can get a new replacement for this at a reasonable cost? Thanks.

 

What year? On my early car it's just copper-colored - no paint of any sort.

 

if you polish it it looks really good...it becomes a really light shiny gold almost silver

 

mine is just copper colored too. Maybe your PO painted it.


I have resisted the urge to paint mine several times....just cant decide if it would look better or not

Funny.... I went ages before I realized there was a lock under there ...

Mines like brass colored

 

Brass- it oxidized quickly- use Flitz and a small buffer on a dremel. VOY-La.
mine is definetly OEM and it's just plain brass.
