Default Water Pump

I just had my water pump and timing belt done. I have a 90 944S2 3.0L engine. I noticed that before i brought the car in it had the 2.7L mark on the water pump. Now the car has a 2.5L pump. Is this going to cause me problems? or will i be OK with it?

Thanks ,,

Evan

Really? I've never noticed these marks. At any rate, your 3.0 liter S2 engine is closer to a 2.7 than a 2.5. Did you order the pump yourself, or let the shop source it? Was it a LASO brand pump?

there are differences, the pumps for the 2.7l and I think the 3.0l use a slightly larger impeller than the earlier pumps.

I'd ask your shop to use the correct pump, just to be safe. They should do it free, no?
