Question Options for easy replacement of shift ****/boot?

Anybody have suggestions for replacement of my shift **** and boot?

I've seen AGLA on the web and seen some mixed reviews of AGLA on previous posts. They have a plug and play replacement.

I've also come across a company called EagleDay:
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/eagleday/shknandbo.html

Both the AGLA and EagleDay products look like stock.

I don't want any radical change, but I might like something different than the stock look. I like the recent 996/Boxster style *****. However, I don't want to mess around with any cutting, sewing, etc.

Any suggestions?

Whatever you do, make sure the replacement **** you put in has some form of insulation like the stock rubber unit. Otherwise, you'll get a nasty vibration through shifter linkage.

just keep watching ebay and pick up a used factory **** and boot that someone is replacing with aftermarket. you just want a good boot with no cracks and tears. if it is faded, not a problem - just pick up some leather dye from any shoe dept. and they boots come out looking as new. of course, this is more difficult when you statrt to move any from black.

AGLA = 10+ months and waiting for my steering wheel recover kit.... the first one they sent after 2 months was the wrong color - not even close to the sample swatch I cut off the old wheel. MANY MANY CALLS later, and they say they now have the dye color and will custom dye the swatch and ship.

Hurricanes may delay arrival, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that something will arrive eventually. Thank goodness I did not ship them my OEM wheel!!!

PM HY M8NC (Ben Wornell) he is selling some shift *****/boots and has one in his car that looks awesome. It is a black boot with a silver **** and insert, looks incredible. I am not sure of the brand though.

I just replaced the boot on the stock ****. The boot took about 10 minutes of stretching to install, but it looks as good as stock. You can get that for $35.

Where is a good place to get new boots? Mine has holes worn through it, and has come completely off of the **** itself. I think it's original!
$35 sounds pretty good RMills944, where is that from?

Mine was from performance products. It takes a little effort to get the boot on there, but it looks great and takes about 10 minutes to install.

http://www.paragon-products.com/Prod...de=AGLA_944ISB $44.95 @ paragon

http://performanceproducts.com/Produ...producttype=20 $34.95 @ performance products.

Yeah, $40 for my 86 from Performance products, $22 from Rennbay. That just seems too good to be true!

Let us know how the fit is, and how well made it is. I may be picking one up right away!

Hmm, has anybody tried one of the rennbay boots? In particular, one for a late 944?

I'm considering ordering one.

Have a quick question though, does the shift boot stretch over the ****, and get held under by the cap on the shift ****? If so, then why does the one in the picture above have the **** seperate?

Yes to your first question.
The one in the pic above looks like an aftermarket ****.

Oh, Zero, you have a PM.
