968 headlight bulbs on Ebay
Hi,
Anyone know if these are a good deal or likely to be better than stock? I recall reading somewhere that in the 968 the headlights are 30-40% brighter than a 944 and I don't find my lights deficient, but this deal seems pretty cheap/reasonable.

I've used these "blue" lights (not the same brand) on both the 944 and the 968 and found them to be worthless, and have since gone back to stock. I don't know for sure, but the 968 seems brighter than the 944 -- on the 944, these lights were down right dangerous and should not be legal if they are. They are pretty, however...

Upgrading to E-Code lenses with stock wattage H4 bulbs yeilds a great increase in light output without the need for rewiring the system. I have lenses from JC Whitney in my cabrio and they are quite good, and w/o bulbs only $19 each. They sell the lenses with (crappy) bulbs for a few bucks more, but I would suggest getting better bulbs from the auto parts store. these are the lenses I run:

The 968 probably has 8" headlight housings like the later 928, they are very good even with DOT bulbs and beam pattern but would not fit a 944.
