Default Tire sizing question

I just bought myself a set of Fikse FM-10's (8.5" fronts and 10" rears) for the Gen'l Lee ('87 951)... anybody want to make suggestions on what size rubber I can run without rubbing on stock sheetmetal?

Regards,

225/40/18 and 285/30/18. You will have to roll the drivers side fender lip slightly or run a little extra negative camber in the rear.
This is providing that your wheel offsets are around 49-55mm.

OOps... I should have mentioned that they are 17's...

Thanks anyway, Pete!

Ah, no problem. That's what I get for assuming.

How about a 235/45/17 and 265/40/17? S-03's do come in those sizes and both have just about the same overall diameter of 25.3"
Matt H. will chime in soon with the definitive answer.

Well, the popular fitment is 245/45R17 and 275/40R17 but I have to tell you they look way too tall for my tastes. I have a picture of a red 951 with K20s and those tires if you would like to see it. Plenty large enough to show you how they look.

You have nailed the problem with 17s, limited tire selection. Pete's suggestion is a good one, though you can fit more tire on the rear. Finding one with the correct RD is tough. PM me with your email and I will send the picture on.
