Default Rear defroster?

I am trying to test my rear defroster. I hooked up my ohmmeter to it. I got 12 volts coming out of both of the wires. I thought that it was only supposed to come out of the left side. How can I check that ground?

Re-attach one wire to the screen, measure amps with the meter between the second wire and the terminal. Alternatively measure resistance over the screen.
Note that the gas springs are conducting the current, one of them should be insulated (the left IIRC) and is part of the pos conductor.

Hey, the passenger side wire that is 'glued' to the glass fell of/no longer attached on mine.

Do i use clear scilicon to put it back? or do i need someone who would 'weld' it back there?
