I'm attempting to remove the large round seat adjust. **** (early 85 manual seats) that inclines the rear of the seat. I removed one ( w/ a bit o force) and cant figure the proper technique. There is a star like retainer clip and a splined piece that the **** engages. It's a tricky bugger. Any help appreciated.

I dunno how, but my question is "why?"

 

In order to remove the ****, you first have to remove the inner round trim piece... Use a screwdriver to pry it out.

Underneath the trim piece, there is a round, three lobed flat spring. To remove the spring, rotate it counterclockwise with relation to the ****. The **** should then be free to be removed from the seat.
