And since there are so many people that want to go from a 944 to 951, they are sometimes willing to give these cars away to people that don't truly appreciate them.

Thats asking a lot at that price range for any semi cared for 951, espec. 87+.
There are deals to be found for sure, but its only against the people who are living beyond their means need quick sells. And usually those peeps are not the ones driving the nicer cared for examples. I think $7500 is good money on a 944. Id sell it and throw 3-4 extra Gs into a 951 for sale thats tight and true. Unfortunately most of the afficionados or whatever you want to call them that live breathe and eat Porsches are going to price their cars higher because they know people "in the know" realize cheapest rarely means least expensive.

$7500 is slightly on the high end for a nice n/a in our area (OH-KY-IN-MI), but not an unreasonable amount for a pristine example. I think that you should take the money now and not look back. You have put a lot of money into the car, but not enough sweat equity to be attached to it. Plus, it's in the pinacle of it's condition state at the moment. That fresh paint is only going to become peppered with chips and scratches over the next few years, thus loosing perceived value for any potential buyer.
I agree with UD. Take the money and add some more to that, and look for a pristine 951. I don't think you like to tinker on a car too much, and a $7500 951 in our area is not going to be pristine.
I don't know if travel is in your plans, but according to many California Rennisters cars are cheaper than wine over there (a nice n/a only goes for $3K, a nice 951 is only $5K, 993's go for $10K, blah blah blah blah ). You may want to consider looking west.

I agree with everyone else, if you have a strong offer of $7500, jump on it. You probably won't get a better offer on an NA. I know you most likely have more in it than that (don't we all?) but if you really want to sell then that is as good as it will get. A pristine 951 will cost you at least $10K in this area so be prepared to spend at least that.
Since you have done so much with your car, why don't you just keep it and start modifying the suspension? The NA may not be powerful but it has enough power to be a very good sports car, DE car, or auto-x car. If you learn to drive it at it's limits it has more than enough power.

What a great opportunity. Take the $7500 and run. If someone came to my house with 7k my 944 would be a gone and it's not even for sale. No doubt you will find a nice 951 over the fall/winter for a good price.

Agreed with everything above, Antonio. I remember all the updates and pics of the car during the repair/ painting process, and combined with the low miles makes your car WORTH the 7 large. In the immortal words of Steve Miller, "go on, take the money and run."
Just thinking out loud here, but whenever the day comes that I get into the market for a 944, logic would say find the best car for the budget. But when that budget starts scratching into the 951 range, the lure of boost comes in for the buyer. Were it MY $7000 budget, I'd be hard pressed to pass up a car that was as babied as yours.
Tifo and UD said it right, too. Find you a 951 with better mechanicals and lower miles and pony up the extra dough. Although you DO have the hookup on body/ paint work, too right?

I will call the guy and tell him i will take the 7500. After what you guys said its hard not to sell it. But i will call him early next week, I need to drive it for a while this weekend........
Its hard selling the car because i don't HAVE to get rid of it but just want to upgrade, yet i really like this car....You guys keep your eyes open for a 951 red black leather, no more then 80K 87+
I will post some last pics of the car later tonight. Thanks everyone for your advice. It really helped the decision.
