You're right about the images, that's why I added the link to my P-car profile. Because of the clunky way eBay has you upload images, my firewall wouldn't let it happen, so I had to give them my url's to my P-car profile. I have had people email me with interest & asking for additional images, which I'm happy to email.

My favorite thing about the car, peculiar as it may be, is the color. I rarely see a Copenhagen Blue anymore.

FSAEracer03,Tom thanks for the advice.
I don't want to supercharge it. Knowing my self i will go to far and end spending to much money.
It seems like the linerads in the paper is a successful way to sell the car. I remember a guy having a 87 na black all stock with 180K, sold it for 4700. You very rarely(hardly ever) see a 944 in the linerads and when you do they sell really quick. Like i said, it will more then likely take a while before it sells but i will try Ebay, rennlist classifieds, linerad and word of mouth on the board.

Dont forget cars.com and autotrader.com .. I'm hunting both those as well in my search, and there are a LOT of 944's out there- not in the same class as yours tho- current range (I JUST looked) was 22,500 for a late low miles cab 944 to 1500 bucks for a tub.

Here is all the books that came with the car. The original maintenance book has all the maintenance the first owner did up to he sold it at 53K miles. The second owner serviced it as good as the first owner, some of the service was not documented but his word is good.(Porsche enthusiast). I got it and did the water pump timingbelt ($1600) and just been enjoying it ever since.

We aren't saying he won't get the 7k but it will take more time to find the right person. It's only worth as much as a person is willing to pay and that goes for everything.

All that work really paid off. The car looks great. It seems crazy to unload it after you spent so much time, money, and aggravation getting it to this point. Maybe you should drive it for a couple of years to help off set the investment. This will also give you an opportunity to work on performance driving before upgrading to a 951.

Selling at the end of the season is not the best move. Also, keep in mind that who ever has your car tech inspected will notice that accident last winter. Although we all know it was only a fender bender a smart buyer will tear you to shreds. That 944 of yours is so nice I would keep it and wait your wife out.

I sold my 87 Na, with similar work, same miles and Cup II wheels in the fall of 2002 for $6200. I started off wanting around 8k but quickly realized that that just wasn't going to happen. I think 6k is a reasonable amount to set as a minimum. However...I regret selling it very often so think it over! Yours is beautiful. If I sell my S2 (which depends on a job I just interviewed for this morning) I'd be very intersted.

You guys are right, i have spent alot of time and aggravation in the car. It is a great car and hopefully the next owner will enjoy and take care of it as much as i have. I kinda thought it would take a while before it sold so i will just wait and see what happens.

wow, lowcountry that is a beautiful car also. I think that the (uninformed/uneducated) public will not spend the amount that a Porsche is worth unless it is a 911. It is frustrating selling 944s, especially considering all of the money that we put into them, and how great WE know they are. It is a buyer's market out there. And since there are so many people that want to go from a 944 to 951, they are sometimes willing to give these cars away to people that don't truly appreciate them.

I've got to agree with Tom, especially in the case of lowcountry's car. The square-dash cars aren't the most sought after and prices of the later N/A cars are comparable so people tend to go for those. There's a similar issue with 928s. I bought my low-miles red '83 for $7200 a couple of months ago. I first checked out a closer car in similar condition whose owner wouldn't budge from his $10k asking price - 6 months later, his ad is still running. For that money, you can get a decent S3 or S4 but that's not the way he saw it.

i got a offer for $7250 today. It getting closer to sell and i don't know if i want to get rid of it now. I put it in the paper yesterday for 10.000!! and got 3 calls on it so far. Its almost like i want to sell it but only for a unrealistic nr because i know it will not sell for that and i get to keep it...its a weird feeling.

There is a saying that sometimes your first offer is your best offer.

When I was looking at a car to replace my stolen S2 at this time last year I looked at an 86 944 with 48k miles. by the time i replaced the clutch, belts, and did the minor bodywork etc all of which would have cost about 2500 i would have had 7500 into the car if i got the seller down from 7 to 5. I offered mid fours.

i couldnt see spending 8k on a 17 year old 944 to use as a daily driver. I set up a budget of 10 for a train car and when the camaro came along with all the suspension and motor mods, it was to good to pass up.

the crappy 944s that sell for 3k are competing with tired saturns. for 7k you are competing with a lot of nice cars because the person with 7k will probably go for 10k if the deal comes along.
