Damn - thanks - that's what I need.... I'm showing 9 hops to you CO though??? It may be COVAD using an alternate route table based on traffic?

Thanks again!!!

Thanks buddy!! ALSO - given the firewalls I have, your tracert will drop at my public IP, so time-outs there should be expected... See - I front end the publics, so the last hop, before the time-out is correct.....

My thanks again!!!!

I timed out after 11 hops at ge-7-1.ipcolo2.Washington1.Level3.net, too.

I'm coming in from Knoxville, TN on a Bellsouth.net bridged ADSL connection.

I haven't noticed a performance problem in the past, but pics definitely load faster now.

Dang - thanks!!!!!

Yep - your DNS is carrying the new IP, and the time-out should be at the back-bone gateway, which is where I am hooking in on this circuit.. My thanks!!!

As for problems in the past - tho old circuit took about 14 more hops, and depending on traffic, would go as high as a 312ms response time, if it didn't drop packets,,????

My thanks again!!

18 hops, but I'm in Norway so that's 16 hops just to get to the USA (NY). Seems very fast (3Mbs ADSL). Grid girls thread is a good benchmark.
