Smile 924 or 951???

Someone wants to buy my beautiful euro 924 1980 and I have a beautiful guards red EEUU 1988 951 in view for about twice the amount of money.
Both cars in very good shape

Do you think that a 951 deserves spending twice the money???

I need a little more elaboration, do you mean that testing a 951 will convince me to buy or not to buy

If I do the switch.... how much money will I have to spend in maintenance? (924s are very easy on the wallet)

Once you try boost you will never want to be without. If you find one in really good shape the maintenance cost shouldn't be to bad. It be more then your 924 but shouldn't be to much more if the car had a good life.

I'm surprised that someone is actually giving you half the price of a 951 for it! No offence intended, but 951's usually go for $6-10k and older 924's usually go for under $2k. Those are average prices, but look into that 951 closely to make sure it isn't plauged with problems. If it isn't jump on the deal! Either way, sell the 924 and look into 944/951. I think it's safe to say the 944 just about doubles the capability and fun factor of the 924. The 951 does at least that to the 944.

Trust me... the 951 is a whole new world that you won't ever want to leave! Welcome, and good luck!

the 924 is sweet but once you have more sound insulation, speed, responsive handling and power...i would say you will like it....it is more expensive to maintain though.

get the 951. It's almost a no brainer. Unless you have emotional ties to the 924 (I understand emotional ties- I'll NEVER sell the 924S, i"m giving it to my son when he gets out of the Army, along witha Rennlist membership..)

If you have the extra $$ for maintanence then 951 all the way. It's looks have aged very well and with some minor work it beats most cars out there today.

Stick with the 924 for pure driving enjoyment. Go with the 951 for pure performance. These are really two VERY different cars - each with advantages over the other. If you like to turn the key and go for a nice sporty drive, then the 924 wins hands down. If the thought of "what might occur" ever enters your mind, then the 951 may not be the best bet. However, if neck snapping performance enters into your criteria, then the 951 can't be beat.

951 of course! Sure it drinks more gas, more maintenance, pricier insurance... But its a turbocharged Porsche!
