Question Heater Problem

Just purchased an '87 944S and don't think the heater is working. I put the climate control **** at the hottest setting and the air stays cool. Also the 2 sliders don't have any effect on where the air comes from. Can't get air out of vents on top of dash or below by feet. Air only comes out the center vents onthe dash.

Help..

check the fuse for the heater system, the blower is powered up independantly, so it can be working even if the fuse for the system is blown. The fuse panel is in the left rear corner of the engine comp., there should be a chart inside the lid to let you know which fuse is which.

thanks I will check that . Does that have anything to do with the sliders and which vents the air comes out of?

That would be the heater clip. It's a plastic clip that holds the slider lever to the flap rod. Look underneath the dash driver side. Lots of posts on "heater clip" in the archives. Part is like $2.00 from the dealer.
