I would enjoy meeting in bloomington and I could probably do the 2 day trip, but that third day is a no go for me... stupid school... I may have a friend with a 250+ 87 RX-7 that would be interested in coming along too if he would be accepted... if not, he will just ride with me

I don't have a problem with an RX-7 joining, unless someone else has a problem with it. I don't want to lose porsches for a mazda. I haven't really seen one up close, but doesn't the RX-7 kind of emulate the 944? It's a rear transmission car as well, isn't it?
By the way, I'm a Purdue engineering alum ('03).

Mike, that 951 looks awesome!

As for route updates. I'm thinking end the first day with a cruise through Jasper (where there's a German flag on nearly every house) and camp at Patoka Lake. Evansville is probably too far, so hit 66 at Tell City and east all the way to madison. Sunday night would be at Clifty Falls.

Again, this would be starting Saturday, October 9 in Bloomington, IN. I didn't see any comments on the date, so we can probably set that in stone.

Yeah the FC generation of the RX-7 definately emulates the 944, in fact the horsepower numbers are even scary close.. the bodies look almost identical. When Mazda made the FD, 93 and up, they dropped the 944 similarities and were looking for something to compete with the infamous Supra.

I could definately do the first day, but depending on what time we woudl arrive in madison and all that i may not be able to do the 2nd or 3rd days...

I'm a computer engineering major here at Rose, and will graduate in 06, then do my 4 yrs air force time, they are paying me to go to school, then start working a real job so i can fund my racing adiction... lol

Ha, I can't see most of the electrical/computer engineers I knew behind the wheel of a porsche. I'm an environmental engineer.

This past week I got a postcard with upcoming Central Indiana Region PCA events. There's a local PCA event the same Saturday, Oct 9th. The "21st Annual Huber Winery Tour." It starts at 8:30 AM in Southport...kinda early. The route includes 135 from Nashville to Starlight. That's early if you're coming from a distance, but is anyone interested in integrating that into the trip?

I want to try to keep this thread active and get an idea who's still interested.
If you're still interested, post a little info about yourself.

I graduated from Purdue with an engineering degree a little over a year ago.
I'm living in downtown indianapolis and working for the state of IN.
The 87 is my first porsche and I've had it close to 10 months now. I expect to be in the market for a well maintained 951 in another year or so from now. I thought the 944 handled great, but then I test drove a couple 951's...need I say more?

46 from Terre Haute to Bloomington is a great run too.. but then you have to go to Terre Haute to start, and that would suck.. so..
nevermind!

It sounds like this will have to be moved back at least a week. I see some conflicts have come up and I've decided that I'm going on a local PCA event that day.

Any suggestions for another day? The following weekend (10/16) would work for me.
