Default Shaking at 50 MPH

My stearing wheel starts to shake between 45 till 55. I plan to rebalance and realign tomorrow. I took out both front wheels to check out the arm bushings and they are all in fine condition. Besides unbalanced wheels, what else could cause the shaking?

I wrote in an earlier thread that I just had my tires "road force" balanced and it made ALL the difference in the world! I could usually tell when I was approaching 60 mph by the slight wheel shake but know I couldn't tell I was doing 90! Obviously there were no other issues with my vehicle though.

Also make sure the lugnut bolts are on tight enough. (but not TOO tight) I had some extreme shaking because 2 lugnuts on one wheel had started to come loose.

90 lb-ft boys and girls. Unless you wanna warp your hubs.

Umm.. I think you'll strip the aluminum lug nut before you warp the hub surface.

I know if you put it too tight, you'll know because the stud will break when you are trying to remove the lugnut.

Raise the front end of the car and grab each wheel to check it for play.

Side to side play is either ball joints or tie rods.
Top to bottom play can indicate loose or worn wheel bearings.

YMMV
