Did some checking, and it is a "Special Edition" 944
As some of you might have read in a post of mine ealier today, I thought I had what is a 88 "Special Edition" 944. Got home tonight and checked the option codes to make double sure, and it is.
I owe a big thanks to a lot of you guys that bought parts when I posted "Help, I'm in trouble and you can help". This is the car that the guy was going to part out due to a bad auto tranny. I was able to sell enough parts to make up what I was short buying the car. I owe you guys a big thanks.
Take a look at the pics of the wild interior.

In comparing the pictures, could that mean that the seats in tod84944's 944 were re-upholstered at some point?
Are the back seats in tod84944's 944 the same as the front?

The front seats are the one thing that I'm confused over. I have been told by some folks that a few came with the vinyl sides and I have been told by some folks that mine must have been recovered at some point. I hope to trace down some owner history on the car and try to find out more about it. The guy that I saved the car from, bought it from a shop here in town that had a mechanics lein on it. They had done a belt and water pump job on the front, and found that the auto tranny was bad. I relplaced it with one from one of the parts cars and have been driving it some since.

If your seats don't look like mine(the center pattern) then I would suspect that the were recovered! My seats were redone somehow with the original cloth. The p.o. continued the boster material up to through the head rest area.
