Default Fan hitting lower radiator hose....

I just upgraded to the late 6 blade fans on the red 84. I had done this to the silver 84 last year with no problems.

I see where the 3 blade fans had nicked the lower radiator hose prior to me buying the car.

I tried to zip tie the hose out of the way, but there is not much there to really pull it out of the way.

I have temporarily unplugged the passanger side fan.

The car has the (upgraded) turbo water pump

My questions are...Does anyone have a part number for the latest lower radiator hose? Should I be ordering just a regular radiator hose for an 84, or should I be getting one for a late car (not an early)

I did this conversion about 4 months ago, here's a response from Granite944 that I kept:

"I did this change over to a double 6 bladed fan assy I removed from a later model parts car (85/2). I can tell you that the noise level is greatly reduced. There was a TSB dated Dec. 6, 1985 (#8526) that tells of doing the changeover. It tells you to replace the hose going to the water pump with the newer style hose (IIRC, newer/later style hose is pn 944.106.237.07 now), or shorten the old one 5 to 10mm. I had to do this also, and it clears just fine."

Here, I just bought one for my 83 and this is what it says on it:

944.106.237.05

My old one, which was nicked for the same reason as yours says:

944.106.237.01

You want to double check if the inner diameter of the late version hose matches yours, as I believe the lower radiator fitting is different on the later cars.
