I did a quick search through all of Rennlist and didn't see an answer to this, but if I missed a thread please let me know.

On Web Cam's website they state there are three camshaft options:
  • "Regrind"
  • "Hard Weld"
  • "New Cam"
Now I was under the impression that Web only made regrinds, but what's the difference between regrind and hard weld? And why is it that for several models, the 'hard weld' and 'new cam' sell for the same price? Shouldn't a 'new' cam always command a better price? For example, check the very bottom of the page for the 944 SOHC options.

no idea...i was under the impression that they only made regrinds as well...although when i talked to them a while back, they said they had a few 944 cams in stock that they could regrind and send to me with a core charge for my old cam...i guess that works out better if you don't want to be without a car because turnaround time is pretty long.
