My buddy has Sony Explode reciever in his Jeep and he likes it but to me its loud but doesnt produce much bass at all. Its just high frequicny loud. Even with the settign with bass all teh way up it doesnt haev much mid-range or bass. I dont like thumpign bass but the sound just sound dull. I dotn know what speakers he has but when he had a facpty reciever in it had decent mid-range and bass.

Maybe it was just a POS model.

Tried them out in the store today...Under $180 (retail) they are very mid and high....not much bass at all.

Over $200 they start to equal all the others in sound/quality/features.

I tested all on the same speakers and radio stations. Bass/treble/ etc all zero'd.

Infinity's sound great! IF you got more money to spend go for audiobah. Personally, i use rockford mainly cuz i cant anything by them wholesale, can't beat that when you're on a budget!!

VERDICT...

Sony lost on all accounts.

I got to his shop and did a head to head on several components/speakers that I could get the deal on..

Sony decks could not compete until over $250...where they did just fine

Pioneer won for 8" speakers
JVC won for deck/value/sound.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I be happy.
