I just got my nwe deck instaled, its an MB Quart NRA450. Yeah, its a marine deck, so that means if i go flying into a poool, the engine wont start but the music will eep playing, maybe thats what britney had too.. Well i have pioneer paper cones with rubber surrounds in the car right now. I was thinking of upgrading to some rockford 4x6's. The T1462C to be specific. Any other suggestions though? i also might add i haev a friend who can get me rockford stuff for oober cheap, and yes the serial #'s are still on there, they are just drawn in with pencil...

I've heard audiobahn 4x6 will fit with no mods in the front door. Audiobahn usually takes some power to move them, but I'm not sure about the smaller speakers. I have Boston Acoustic rears and they fit great and sound great. I just need something with more midrange in the rear, so I may add 6 1/2s in the "trunkal area" (new word) when I build my sub shelf where the back seat was.

Ive used Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) speakers in my cars for several years. I swear by them. Their head units Ive had an issue or two with. Most here will tell you to run, not walk, away from anything Blaupunkt. I tend to agree.

I don't listen to insanely loud music so it should be ok. I have more than enought power with the 4 speaker 120W RMS (30W/spkr) alpine system that came stock in the other car.
I'm thinking of running only front speakers due to imaging problems with front and rear. I've heard the problem before so I know. But I don't see anyone with a front speakers only setup. Everyone uses all 4 speakers. Why is that?
And how are the Boston Acoustics 4x6 plate speakers? I've heard them before (home and car) and they just blew me away. Very good stuff, especially the pro and z lines.

you will have no problem running the kapp 4x6's with the Vdrive alpine. i had reference 4x6's running off of my clarion (53 watt peak per channel), and they sounded good, then i gots some kappa 4 1/4's and 1" tweet sepereates and built kick plates for the doors. running off the same deck the sound difference was like day and night.
your never going to get great sound with the 4x6 aimed at your knee. but getting higher powered speakers and a bigger deck/amp to push them always helps a bunch.

So how would it this setup sound for an average, slightly above average but not awesome system?:
1) Alpine 7833
2) 4x6 Kappa plates or 4x6 boston plates in the front.
3) no rears, don't even use them (fade full front) so there's no imaging problems and it sounds better.
4) And get some bass shakers and power them off of the 2 rear channels of the HU.
