Default Which glue to use for interior trim?

In a couple of areas, the headliner is coming loose around the sunroof and needs to be re-glued. What is the best stuff for the job?

Thanks,
Daniel

3M "General Trim Adhesive". Not "Super Trim Adhesive" General has a part number that is something like 08808 or something like that - might be all 8s and 0s IIRC.

It is a contact cement. Spray a thin web of it on each side, wait about a minute, and stick.

Cheers,

That's what I use. Just make sure you don't get it on something you don't want it on, 'cause it's kind of a mess to remove.

Try using the Permatex upholstery stuff, it's about $10 a can, but it works great.
The trick is to wait for the film to become tacky before bonding the surfaces.

Will this glue work for the carpeting around the floor board, like below the door on the side? I pulled off the plastic side sill there and the carpeting has seperated from the body, glue is dry and yellow. What would be the best stuff for that?

I like all of the 3M Fastak weatherstripping adhesives for gluing fabric to metal. Used it to hold my sew-up tires onto tubular rims when I raced bikes. The part# goes from 08005 to 08034 or so and the bond-strength gets higher with the part#. That last one may even work for bonding the hatch to the frame pieces.

Hey, we used Fast Tack for the same purpose back in the day. Worked great for tubulars

The 3M Spray adhesive is pure, viscous, gorilla snot. I prefer it over a glue gun...

Really.....I am having the same problem with my headliner coming unglued around the sunroof. Will trade beer for glue!
