Default ITs official! 9/11/04 cruise inn/driving tour Florence KY.

ok so we've got the tour directions all completed, the refreshments are in the works, and ive got the ok from work to have this. Now all we need is YOU! Here is the official announcement/invite.

Florence Kentucky Porsche GTG – 9/11/04

This is the first ever cruise inn/driving tour being held at the Florence Park Care Center, benefiting the Residents Fund which helps pay for activities and events held here at the center for our residents. Your donations are much appreciated, as is your attendance! The residents here appreciate any activities outside a normal day to day routine, this should be a great chance for them to check out some great cars and stretch their legs abit.

Our day will start around 12:00p on Saturday September 11,2004 at the Florence Park Care Center, located at 6975 Burlington Pike, Florence KY. We will have pop and waters available, but I would suggest eating a lunch before hand. This will give us a chance to catch up w/ friends, show off our latest mods, etc. and talk to friends we may not get a chance to see everyday off of Rennlist.

The driving tour will head out around 3:30p and head southward down rt25 to Williamstown, KY , through the twisties of rt22, and back up 27n till we end up hopefully around 5:30 at Covington on the Ohio river. The restaurant is yet to be picked at this time. My hope is that everyone will have a good time, get a chance to run their car through some twisties, and benefit the residents of FPCC in the process.

I know this event was planned w/ short notice, but we appreciate all that attend and perhaps next year will be even greater! Thanks,Dan.

Awesome.

There are a couple of german-style restaurants there in covington on the main strasse. The names escape me, but we could go check them out prior..............

Here, I found the german pub/restaurant that Renee and I ate at last time in Covington, in the German Village part:

""Wertheims"
514 W. 6th St., Covington, KY; (859) 261-1233. Located in Main Strasse Village. Come join us for German or American cuisine. Open 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., 7 days a week."

Could be worth checking out........

Sounds good, Dan. Just got your email.
I'm leaving for New Orleans tomorrow, so if I drop out of sight (well, more than usual anyway!) remember to definitely count me in. And a German restaurant makes it all that more cool.

hey everyone! Tifo and i took a prerun of the driving tour and dispite a couple of non marked roads, it was GREAT! 22 is about the twistiest road ive ever been on! Everything is still on w/ a couple of slight changes to the schedule...we are going to have people start showing up around 12:00 and leave out for the tour around 3:30p- this way we have an extra hour for people to show up and we leave earlier to beat the traffic in covington when we get back for dinner. Dinner is either going to be at Hoffbrauhaus ORR Joes Crabshack depending on how they reserve spots and parking possibly when we get there.

any questions email me at xsboost90@yahoo.com

Today was fun! I loved the route. I think I am gonna make Renee sick on the drive .

Anyone who does not go is gonna miss out. Big time. State Route 22 is mega fun.

My vote is for Hoffbrauhaus. It will be in keeping with the Germanic theme. Plus I would have to have some German brew and some goetta. Ummmmmmmmmm.

Since I can't make it the least I can do is stick this up for a bit.

At least Dan won't have to type "spigitybumpitump" anymore.

FYI, here is a snippit of the drive. Look at the map attached. St. Rt. 22 is one of the roads we will be on. See how twisty it looks? It's even twistier in person. The distance shown on the map for St. Rt. 22 is about 20 miles. My arms were tired after the drive it was so twisty.
