Default Short Shift vs. Original (Photo Comparison) *56K GO MOW THE LAWN*

So I spean the day rehanging my exhaust, installing my new shifter and bushing, and my short shift kit (was gonna pull the heater core and put the new wiper stuff in but it started raining, how ironic). Anyway, here it is, side by side photo comparison of the short shift vs regular. It's definitely shorter, and a lot notchier, I love the feel of it, but it's not for everyone.

Enjoy!

Is this the group buy short shifter? When you say "notchier", does that mean harder to shift, or, easier to know what gear you're going into?

Yeah, it's the group buy one, 944Racing. It's not harder to shift you just KNOW you're in gear.

It will be a bit stiff for a short while. It will knock a bit when changed but will loosen up after it gets broken in.

Andy,

In a few weeks you can feel out my car...it has the autothority...which is very very similar to the 944 racing kit.

I'm hoping to put the engine in next weekend with Ken. It'll be a 3 day weekend, so that should help.

The 944 racing kit looks a bit shorter in throws than the autothority, the way I have mine adjusted. The autothority is adjustable, 944 racing is not. Thats where the price difference comes from...and the autothority name probably brings in a little $$ as well.
