Eugene,
The rebuild is coming along alright, going to remove and retorque the girdle and try to get it flush for the oil pump without grinding. Pistons are in, crank is in, head is torqued down... 15% leakdown on cylinders 2-4 and 7% on cylinder 1 with the pistons at BDC(no easy way to held at TDC when pressurizing), with the engine never having been run.
After that, its just throwin parts at it...oil pump, water pump, belts, rollers, etc... all the misc heat shields and that stuff...
Porschearama (Pocono III) with NNJR...my brother and I are running both days.

Hello Adrial.
A pretty sight ! I hope that all goes well with completing the rebuild/assembly. I plan to be at the Pocono event. It will be good to see You and Yarin.
Eugene.

September 12th at my place?
I got the OK for this from Mrs T last night.
I had invited a few guys and their families over to my house for a day at the beach, BBQ etc for the 12th. If we got a big turnout for a meeting in NJ I would have cancelled if the guys wanted to.
Instead, the local guys and their significant others (and little ones) are welcome at my house for a day at the beach etc. Again the date is Sept. 12th.
I need a head count so I can get enough burgers, and parking permits so we can park in front of the house. Since the beach is officially closed labor day there are no lifeguards, so no swimming (or swim in the atlantic with the undertoe at your own risk). Bring your own beach chair too. There is a nice playground at the beach which is less than a quarter of a mile from me, and I have a swing set in my yard.
If you are under the legal drinking age, don't bring booze, if you are over the drinking age, bring what you will consume. I don't want skunks in the house.
Again, significant others are invited as well. I think it would be nice if some of the met. See what they have in common besides being with car nuts.
I think I can handle about 30-40 people without too much trouble. Also, I am about ten minutes south of JFK for the mapquest inclined.

I felt the heat on my face from the second plane as I was looking at "things" jumping/ coming out of the windows where my old office on the 101st floor of tower one was, while it was burning.
September 11th will probably never be a day for me to have a party, or party. I will never forget the mental image of a guy in a yellow polo shirt walking real fast up broadway talking to himself out loud saying something like "must make it" over and over while I went back into my building to get my co workers out foolishly thinking a bomb went off in tower two.
Kinda makes me wonder about the political ads being played lately. I cant imagine living with the images Kerry, or my dad who did "mop up" on Omaha beach saw. I wonder if the guys that were in college or the national guard will always have images of parties in bars playing through their mind. didnt mean to digress.
Sorry, I can't do it on the 11th.

If people want to get together at my house on the 12th, post how many people so I can make provisions.
I would appreciate a head count by Friday AM. Friday PM we can check the forcast and see what Francis and Ivan have in store for us and decide what to do.

Tom, I'd be in for the 12th if it's a go. I have no idea how the local block party ended up on the 11th, it's usually the day before Labor Day, either way I don't mind a little party on the 11th to remind me I'm still among the living.
