Default Turbo Style

I am thinking about putting a turbo style aftermarket front on my 944S. Performance parts has them marked down to 340. I just wanted to know if anyone had some good pics of one that is finished. I know there are a couple.

Run! Run far away! I know some people have had decent luck with them, but, IMHO, they look flat and not of high quality. And they are generally ill-fitting. I actually purchased one and got rid of it because it was so bad. Made me want to purchase the factory bits.

Just my opinion, but you are better off getting the stock parts to do the conversion.

I realize that fiberglass parts need to be fitted. but when you consider the cost difference It might be worth the work. The junk yards want 1200 for all the parts with out the lights. I would like to see some pictures from various angles and decide for myself.

I'll give you a good head start with 951 fenders (need a little work) and a header pannel for $250......

Thats driver and passenger fender, and the header pannel...... (all need alittle work, but you were going to paint, its not much above and beyond that ( a dent in the driver side fender that can be knocked out)....

Then you need to source a bumper (they show up used from time to time)....

If you need a hood, doors, and mirros I have those too........ (not likely, but hey worth a shot)....

I'll admit that it does not look as good as the real deal but still looks better that an n/a front. That one looks modified on the bottom.

Yuck. You don't want that on your car. Do you?

The fake one in the photos has had a lip glassed into it, it does make it look much better. The "flatness" of the fake nose is hard to represent in photos, it looks much more exaggerated in person.

Consider that even with the fake nose, to do it right you will still need the lights and the bumper support bracket and bumper shocks. At that point, you've sunk enough money into it that it may be worth it to just go ahead and get the other bits that Ian is selling, and source the real nose cover.

Just speaking from experience on this one. I wasn't happy with the repro nose, decided to stick with the stock 944 nose until I could do it properly. Took a little longer, but I was happier.

OH MY, the fake 951 front end is absolutely hideous. Doesnt flow with the lines of the front end at all. Fiberwerks looks a lot better than that...

You can make the fiberglass parts look better, but it takes a ton of work and skill to make them look right.

I bought the AIR pieces, and chose to use the AIR vented header panel. I modified the bumper to fit the new header panel, and that seemed to help the appearance of the N/A turbo conversion bumper.

I just noticed that the fake one is a 924.
The beauty of the 951/S2 nose is the graceful arc when viewed from above. The fake nose is squared off and looks out of place.
If you can source a euro 944NA front bumper that would be the easiest way to go. Look for pics or xsboost90's '89 944. the euro bumper looked just right.
GTRacing's 924Carrera GT nose also looks good but from what I've heard does take some work to get a proper fit.
