Lately, when I accelerate from a stop and I let the clutch out in anyway but the most gentle, it growls at me. Time for a clutch job?

It could be your throwout bearing going south. That's what happened to me...

I've got strange noises coming from my drivetrain as well. When I lift to start slowing down, I hear a mechanical (almost grinding noise) that sounds like it is coming from underneath the shifter. The clutch engages fine, doesn't slip and it shifts smoothly. This started last weekend when I was accelerating in 4th gear on the interstate. I went to shift to 5th and the shifter would not go into any gear. Pushed the clutch in and out and it went back into 4th, then I could find 5th. Hasn't done this since, but now I have the noise under deceleration. Anyone have any ideas?
