Default Water pooling in the rear wheel-wells - Leaking sunroof or rear-hatch?

Hi folks,

When it rains, water pools in my rear fender wheel-wells on both sides.

Is this a symptom of a leaking sunroof (or blocked vent tube) or a leaking hatch?

TIA.

Karl.

make sure the drain tubes are sticking out of the wheel wells and just not emptying into them.

Hi AznDrgn,

The drain tubes in the wells seem to be fine.

Thanks.

Karl.

Rear tail lights not sealed properly. Pull them out (6 nuts each), seal them up, and put them back in. I used a thick foam tape, about 1/4" thick. Some use the original tar/clay crap to stay "oem".

Tail lights were the issue on the '83 I just picked up ... the thing had to have like 2 gallons of water on the driver's side.

Yea i would start by sealing the tail lights first, then look into your hatch seperating from the glass. I used some black RTV sealer or some sort from an autoparts store, that went in my caulking gun. It worked great, no more leaky for me.

Make sure that the drains in the cubbies behind the wheels are open and not clogged.
