Does anyone know if an early tumbler will fit directly into a late handle?
Long story short, put an early handle on my car as a cost effective measure. Had to swap tumblers. Now I have new (used) late handles, and am wondering if the tumbler will fit. Would be nice to know before I pull the handle.

Related question: Will a tumbler from a late 944 rear hatch fit with a rear hatch of an early 944? I'm looking to get a matching set of tumblers and door handles (upgrading from the early style 944 door handles to the Porsche Script late 944 handles).

 

hmm...good question. I know we attempted to put 968 door handles/which fit the late tumblers, into an early car, and the tumblers wouldnt work. Had to get late tumblers to fit the 968 handles...whew!! Rear hatch should be the same, as long as its not 89- I THINK!

 

Hurm I hope it is the same.... My '83 NA currently uses two keys - one for the outside locks and one for the ignition. I want to just have one pair of keys for all three exterior locks + the ignition, and i want late 944 Porsche script handles...
